26th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw
26th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw
9th June- 15th July 2018
Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts!
Poster Day returns to its roots – the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts! It was here that it all began – in 1966, at the initiative of the leading representatives of the Polish school of poster art – Professors Józef Mroszczak and Henryk Tomaszewski.
Posters form a visual record of our times – the here and now.
In 2018, the Biennale’s organizers have invited poster designers of all generations and from all around the world to participate in the main exhibition – to show us what the here and now constitutes and what inspires them today…
We are organizing an open poster competition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of independence being re-established by Poland as well as the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, and (in 1917) Finland. The competition’s posters will form an exhibition devoted to freedom, independence, cooperation and tolerance.
As part of the Biennale, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and the 50th anniversary of the Poster Museum at Wilanow.
Events being prepared include a:
– Scientific conference
– Meetings with artists
– Poster design workshops (2-7.07.2018).
Poster Love! Let’s celebrate together – all poster designers and fans! See you in June in Warsaw!
